Whilst I have to admit that much of my time revolves around harps, music and sound projects, I also like drinking tea and baking eating cakes.
Having the immense privilege to work closely with Teifi Harps as consultant on instrument development has given me an increased awareness of the process of harp-making and I am currently researching a book on the people and stories behind this incredible craft.
"It's a very exciting time in harpmaking - there's so much potential in
modern materials and there's so much still to be discovered..."
- Allan Shiers (founder, Teifi Harps)
I'm also very interested in languages and the process of translation (specifically between Japanese, French and English), and the relationship between music and language - the latter informing much of my master's work.
